DUE TO UNEXPECTED CIRCUMSTANCES TOMISLAV'S CLASS WILL BE REPLACED BY MARIA FONSECA ( Mon-Wed) and LEWIS WILKINS (Thursday)

MARIA FONSECA

Maria's approach to dance has been greatly influenced by Flying Low Technique, Capoeira and active meditations. Since graduating Maria has worked with a great variety of artists, such as Nuno Silva, Jean Abreu Dance, Protein Dance, John Ross, Rizzle Kicks, Adidas/ Ivan Blackstock, BBC2 and Jack Murphey, among others. Maria choreographed 'Red Tears' for Resolution 2014 at The Place.

LEWIS WILKINS

A highly physical practice which centres around improving efficiency and fluidity when moving in and out of the floor. We will explore organisation of weight and the generation of centrifugal energy in order to challenge coordination, and increase dynamic potential. There will be some strength and skill based inversion training. This is in preparation for movement sequences rooted around vocabulary from breaking and capoeira.

Lewis has worked with Tom Dale, James Wilton, John Ross, 2Faced, Jose Agudo and New Adventures. He has also performed in new creations with Jo Stromgren, Damien Jalet, Jorge Crecis, and Victor Quijada as a member of Scottish Dance Theatre. Lewis has previously taught for Greenwich Dance Agency, University College Sussex, Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, Scottish Dance Theatre, and 2Faced Dance Company. Tomislav trained at the Rambert School and London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a First Class BA (Hons), as well as training in Capoeira in Brazil and Teukgong Moosool with members of the Korean Special Forces (707th). Since graduating Tom has worked extensively with Punchdrunk/National Theatre London, Joe Wright/Warner Brothers Pictures/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, David Zambrano, and in 2015 will join Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez for a new creation period and subsequent world tour. Tom is also studying postgraduate at both Royal Holloway, University of London studying Contemporary Performance Practice, and Oxford University, Department of Psychiatry studying Mindfulness Based Cognitive Sciences.
