Mirabelle's movement language is a practice that mixes disciplines from dance, circus and physical theatre.
The classes will be composed of:
Mental + Physical Endurance:
The sessions start with an intensive and challenging training, testing endurance through continious movement patterns using strengh, explisovity, flow and flexibility. The idea of this training is to challenge the body and the mind, never stop the movement to pass the point of tiredness and enjoy the power of our bodies!
Floor-work + Handbalance and Acrobatics:
The second part of the class is floor-work based movements and principles, playing with spirals and building into sequences that will lead into more acrobatic movements gradually getting more complex throughout the week. The purpose is to link the acrobatic movements with the floor-work so that they can have flowing qualities and become more accessible to dancers.
Physical Theatre Approach of Movement:
During the week there will be exercices, improvisations and games inspired from Mirabelle's physical theatre training and that are now part of a method she is developing to give to dancers a language permiting them to be more aware of their presence and what they communicate to an audience while dancing, despite the technical aspect of movements.
Graduating with a BA in physical theatre from the Accademia Teatro Dimitri and a post-graduated from the Laban Conservatory of Dance; Mirabelle has adopted a unique discipline that involves elements from dance, acrobatics, contortion,hand-balancing and physical theatre.
Now a developed artist in her own right, she is working and devising under the label of ‘Le Mirabellier’. She recently worked for companies such as Acrojou and Urban Conceptz Theatre, and the british artist Georgina Starr. She presented her solo dance piece at the Resolution Festival 2018 at The Place Theatre London, in Prague for the Fun Fatale Festival 2018 and in festivals in Switzerland where she comes from.
