Relax to Erupt technique
RelaxtoErupt is a full bodied physically demanding practise which focuses on moving between 0% to 100% of energy. Relaxation in the movement is as vital as the explosive moments. We will train in floor work and standing phrases with the emphasis on finding opposition in the body and releasing tension in the hips, chest and head. This practise by Lewis Cooke has spread across London, Dundee and Athens. The class is continually evolving as Lewis is hungry and curious to develop his understanding of the body whilst shifting through various spaces trying to find unlimited possibilities in movement.

Lewis Cooke is a choreographer, teacher and performer.
He began his training on the CAT scheme at The Place. Aged 15 he then joined National Youth Dance Company for 2 years working with Jasmin Vardimon and Akram Khan. Both years were premiered at Sadlers Well’s and followed with a 2 month UK tour.
At 17 he went on to study at London Contemporary Dance School. Throughout his time training he worked with Hofesh Shechter, Punchdrunk, Marso Rivere and many others artists.
He was also involved in many projects/workshops outside of his training such as, Alleyne Dance internship, New Movement Collective gala, workshops with Anton Lachky, Lali Ayduade, Edivaldo Ernesto and has been an assistant for multiple workshops with Jos Baker and Tomislav English as well as an understudy for Jasmin Vardimon’s company Pinnochio.
