Fri 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  |  £5
These are contact improvisation classes lead by the TRIPCI collective.
TRIPCI is a London based contact improvisation collective of 10 experienced CI practitioners, dance artists and teachers from various backgrounds and influences such as BMC, physical theatre, choreography, Feldenkrais, contemporary dance, yoga, massage to name a few.

The collective comes together every Friday 11am-12:30pm at TripSpace to teach an open class.
Dancers and anyone eager to improve their contact skills are welcome.
Each session is led by one or several members of the collective.

The in between

In this class we will allow ourselves to play with shifting levels of compliance, along with the degree of attention we apply to what is happening within the body, and what is occurring in the space around us. We will investigate how we receive and respond to information on offer from others in the space, with a focus for solo dancing in contact. I enjoy practicing and teaching some of the more acrobatic contact skills. Some time will be allocated to this during the session.

Lewis trained and completed his BA (hons) 1st degree at London Contemporary Dance School. Since graduating in 2009 he has danced with companies and choreographers including; Scottish Dance Theatre, Mathew Bourne’s New Adventures, Richard Alston Dance Company, Tom Dale Company, TrashDollys, Jean Abreu Dance, John Ross Dance, James Wilton Dance, Léa Tirabasso, and Riccardo Buscarini.
He also recently performed at The National Theatre in the award winning Angels in America, directed by Marianne Elliot.
Lewis often leads classes and workshops in the UK and abroad, and regularly teaches at London Contemporary Dance School, Rambert School, TripSpace, and for several professional dance companies. Lewis has been dancing Contact Improvisation for 12 years, and over the last 4 years it has become his primary area of movement practice and research.
