Horton Technique was developed by the American modern dancer and choreographer, Lester Horton. It was one of the primary modern dance techniques used in Alvin Ailey’s choreography on the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Noa’s class teaches students the fundamentals of the Horton technique. The class consists of studies called Fortifications, that stretch and strengthen different areas of the body. Many of the studies taught include flat backs, primitive squats, lateral stretches, release swings, leg swings, deep lunges, and T positions. These are structured into longer combinations, incorporating turns and jumps, that challenge the dancers technique while highlighting musicality and dynamics.

Noa Genazzano graduated as a Level 1 Scholarship Recipient from The Ailey School. During her time at The Ailey School, she performed in both Alvin Ailey's Revelations and Memoria with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Since moving to Europe, she has worked with a variety of esteemed choreographers such as Maxine Doyle, Vinicius Salles, and UK based company, Humanhood. She premiered her first original group work, U Are The Universe, in NYC in 2018.
Noa has trained in the Horton technique for almost 10 years with world renowned teachers such as Milton Myers, Adrienne Hurd, Elizabeth Roxas, and Ana Marie Forsythe, who co-authored the official book of Horton Technique. Noa began teaching Horton at The Ailey School for the Junior Division Program.
