Federica Esposito facilitates ProDance training

Oppositions, gravity, skeletal connections and spirals will flow through the body during this Release/Floorwork based class. Federica’s class combines articulate excersises, fluent sequences with moments of led improvisation and partnering work.The concepts of clarity, ease, fluidity, power as well as the search for the inner momentum will be explored in a playful atmosphere, sharing positive vibes and connecting physical energies.
Moments of improvisation, self-discovery, sharing with people, set exercises, ?deep stretching and some streghthening will get mind and body ready for a day of research and work.


Freelance dance artist, Federica holds a BA in Foreign Languages and Cultures. After her studies at "Les Ballets", private dance school in Sicily, she graduated from Modem Studio Atelier, a professional contemporary dance course run by Compagnia Zappalà Danza (Italy), in 2004. Since then she has worked with various companies including Compagnia Zappalà Danza (IT), Legitimate Bodies Dance Company (IRE), Compagnia Pareri Variabili (IT), Animated State Dance Theatre Company (IRE), Teatro Stabile di L'Aquila (IT), Cie Eco (FR), Altered Skin (UK) and Gwyn Emberton Dance (UK), Scottish Opera (UK, Teatro Regio di Torino (IT), Cie Ariella Vidach (IT), Compagnia VuotoperPieno (IT), etc. Her career has been enriched with further experiences with choreographers such as Giusi Santagati, Linda Magnifico,, Philippe Ménard, Wei Ming Poon, Henry Oguike, etc.
She teaches a wide range of techniques (floorwork, release, contact-improvisation, physical theatre, ballet technique, etc...) to students at both professional and amateur level, disabled and children. She has taught at Viagrande Studios in Italy, Dundee Rep, Scottish Dance Theatre, Perth Concert Hall and Aberdeen University Dance Society, CityMoves Dance Agency, DanceHouse Glasgow, DanceBase Edinburgh, ProDance Leeds, Theater Gorlitz/Wee Dance Company, amongst others.
Assistant for the integrated dance project "Water and Glass", run by Peter Royston and co-choreographed by Sarah Blanc, with the support of Perth and Kinross Council, Scottish Dance Theatre and Enable Scotland.
Between 2014 and 2016 she co-founded a dance project company called Fuora Dance Project. The pieces have been presented at Hidden Door, Scottish StoryTelling Centre, Summerhall in Edinburgh, Resolution2015 and London Bridge Arts Festival in London, Streetland and Cottier Dance Project '14/16 in Glasgow, CityMoves and Dance Live in Aberdeen, Teatro Libero di Palermo, Teatro Trieste34, Villa Malfitano, Villa Trabia, Dance International Glasgow and so on . The company has received the support of Scottish Dance Theatre, ArtsTrust Scotland, DanceBase Edinburgh, DanceHouse Glasgow, CityMoves, DanceCity Newcastle, DanceHouse Dublin and The Italian Institute of Culture of Edinburgh.
In 2017/2018 she created several choreographic works: Compromissus, #Altrove_Dramaqueen, Iperuranio: The Long and The Short of It and the work in progress Radici.
Since September 2018 she regularly teaches at ADT Advanced Dance Training, ArteDanza Novara, Accademie Moma and Mood, etc. As a freelancer, she currently performs, holds classes and workshops and she creates new works across Europe.
