A combination of acrobatics, contemporary dance, contact improvisation, floor work, physical theatre and influences from breakdancing and acro-yoga in a playful atmosphere and to upbeat music!

Learn the basic techniques for dips and lifts, partner work, body posture, grips, counter balances and weight sharing.
Their workshop is open to all and aims to improve stamina and strength through partner work and acro balance. The principles of their class is influenced by the diversity of both of their backgrounds, which are often brought into contemporary dance.
Paul and Laura will also be teaching how to create movement and improvise using the skills learnt in the beginning of the class.


After forming their own company Hardly Lucky Dance Theatre earlier this year, Paul and Laura have been touring their new work “Pillow Fight" in France, Wales and London as well as teaching in Universities this summer 2019.


LAURA: Originally from France, Laura began training in flamenco. She moved to London in 2011 to specialise in contemporary dance and physical theatre. She studied dance at Kingston University (BA Hons) and trained with Jasmin Vardimon 2 in 2017. Laura currently works with Van Huynh Dance Company and Etta Ermini Dance Theatre in London and works on her own artistic projects for flamenco, contemporary and acrobatics. Laura has traveled and worked extensively abroad focusing on learning more about dance minorities and their cultural environment, as well as teaching and choreographing in Vietnam, New Caledonia, France and India. Her experience in a variety of styles and different geographic environments has inspired her theatrical performance, combining technical physicality, contact work, acrobatics and different influences from her cultural dance journey.

PAUL: Paul trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a First Class Degree in 2015. He went on to complete an apprenticeship with Motionhouse Dance Theatre, touring over 2015-2016 and teaching for Motionhouse Youth company. He also delivered classes and workshop all over the UK and Europe. He has performed works by Motionhouse Dance Theatre ‘Captive’ and ‘Broken’ Tino Seghals ‘Kiss’, Tangled Dance Company ‘Once Upon A Twisted Time’ and ‘Frosted By Magic’. KAPOW ‘Climb The City’ and Van Huynh Company ‘DEP’ and ‘Resurrection’. Currently working with Van Huynh Company and Etta Ermini on a new work. Also recently pushing the promotion and works of Hardly Lucky Dance Theatre.
He has a strong belief in working hard and enjoys pushing his body. Pushing through the tiredness is where the substance of life is! He often quotes “Earn your day”.

We want to encourage dancers to make Yoga an integral part of their training!
