Peter Groom Dance-Theatre I MADRE

"What if it's all or nothing? Created from a scratch performance whilst in residence at Battersea Arts Centre, the piece began as an exploration into working solo. Some of the questions asked were: blood ties, lament, mafia, and say goodbye.
Since it’s creation at BAC in 2014 , MADRE has toured to DanceCity, DanceBase, and will play later this year as part of Live Bites at Yorkshire Dance and also Turn, Manchester.

Performed by Peter Groom. Dramaturgy by Kai Green

Joel O’Donoghue & Lorea Burge Badiola I Sibs

"Sometimes we can sit next to someone, elbow-to-elbow, for a considerable period of time and only visually take into account their legs and feet.

Created and performed by: Joel O’Donoghue and Lorea Burge Badiola. The initial research process for this project was supported by The Place.

Fernanda Prata & Ben King | Nòs

"An English and Brazilian share their personal and cultural identity with the audience and each other. With a selection of scenes being composed to a selection of songs, the audience are in control of what they see as they will be free to select and change the music as they wish from a playlist. Nós is inspired by the Tropicália movement where artists such as Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso would feed from artists of different cultures, digesting their work like a cultural cannibalism, allowing it to influence their own work."

Created and performed: Fernanda Prata and Ben King Music: Chega De Saudade by Joao Gilberto, The Girl From Ipanema by Amy Winehouse, Samba e Amor by Bebel Gilberto, Mas Que Nada by Jorge Ben Jor, Blackbird by The Beatles, Domingo No Parque by Gilberto Gil, Miss You by The Rolling Stones, Theme from Fawlty Towers by Celticana, Angie by Bert Jansch. Special thanks to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Horniman Museums and Gardens, Suzie Holmes and Milk Films Café.
