In this lunch break session we will release adhesions created by sitting at the desk for long hours, by holding gentle stretches for a minute or so, creating an opening of the chest, releasing the neck and promoting length & space in the arms and wrists.
Fascia is the connective tissue that envelopes and permeates the human body. It forms a three-dimensional matrix of support: organs, muscles, bundles of muscle, bones, cells are all enveloped in fascia. Sitting at the desk for hours on end, sitting on public transport on our way to work, sitting on the sofa at the end of the day is literally changing the shape of our bodies: as fascia thickens in the wrong areas, it leads to restrictions which will eventually change our posture and balance.
Fascial restrictions are a common cause of chronic pains and reduced range of motion. As long as we keep moving, fascia will keep its fluidity.
