Rachel, like all these artists, is now well known in the UK through her regular appearances at prestigious clubs and festivals, and latterly as a hugely popular teacher of old time music. Blessed with diverse skills on fiddle, guitar and banjo she also possesses the voice of an angel and her appearances are always oversubscribed. Originally from the coal fields of West Virginia she now lives with her husband Kristian Herner in Stockholm.

Although the most senior member of this gathering, Carl's energy, rendered through the power of music, and, unavoidably, speech, is capable of leaving any collaborators in the shade. A giant of the traditional music scene of the Southern States Carl has released many respected recordings both traditional and original, and has worked with just about everyone along the way. And he is married to Erynn, with whom he has recorded much beautiful music.
