This fun workshop is a perfect opportunity to introduce a friend to AcroYoga or to perfect your foundational skills. We will offer techniques that, with the support of the group will enable you to expand upon what you believe possible within your practice.
By cultivating skillful partnership, AcroYoga provides a vehicle to explore positive and supportive relationships with an emphasis on honest, clear and compassionate communication. The practice inherently creates a strong bond and fosters a sense of community amongst participants.
We'll cover both the therapeutic and acrobatic styles of the practice. Students will be introduced to therapeutic flying, Thai massage, inversions, partner acrobatics and more.
Come with or without a partner. No previous experience is needed.
Erica Montes RYT500 first worked with the body though performance art, acrobatics and theatre. She first encountered Yoga and meditation as a teenager and, after years working as an actor, found a common ground between her intensely disciplined theatre work and Eastern practices that promote mindfulness through physical motion. This sparked a lifelong interest in exploring conscious movement and the connection of mind, body and spirit. Her classes possess an elegant beauty and fluidity. They are the ideal vehicle to express the themes of harmony, balance, spirituality, joy and bliss. Erica completed her 500 hour Yoga certification with Edward Clark's Tripsichore Yoga and is a certified level 2 AcroYoga teacher. She is also a Thai massage therapist and integrates the knowledge of this ancient healing tradition in her teaching.
