Arm balances and inversions can be very energising and fun, but in a regular class we don’t usually have the necessary time to develop and hone this upside down logic. This workshop will be 100% focused on building the bridges needed for you to push forwards in your inversion practice. We will work on understanding the mechanics of the body in these postures and creating strength, flexibility and stability in the wrists, shoulders and core. This will help create a good base of support and build the confidence to approach these more challenging postures.
Expect to work hard, have fun and fall a few times - the floor will be there to catch us!
Many of these poses can take months or years of practice before you can do them comfortably and with ease, so remember it is not about “achieving” all postures and variations but about building good foundations and applying the drills explored into your practice.
We will look at poses such as crow, one leg crow, side crow, eight angle pose and forearm stand.
For those practitioners who are more advanced, we will introduce a variety of fun and challenging ways to transition to the next level.
