Acrobat in flux
- Solo acrodance (Morning)
There is a certain sensitivity in acrobatics behind all the larger movements.
It's a tool where the smallest adjustment can make a big impact on the physical outcome.
We will look into our own vocabulary and system of individual acrobatic practice.
And our methodology of using acrodance as a vehicle to expand possible movement choices and directions.
Because of new and sometimes unfamiliar movement choices falling is a big part of learning and developing as an acrobat, we will share our methodology which we call "acrobat safety net" how do we / can we fall in an efficient way?
Another tool we use is the embodiment of animal or creature to boost (support) the ability to access different rhythms and dynamics in a less pedestrian and human way.
Because of the nature of acrobatics, there is a greater degree of risk and potential damage if not done correctly.
It requires that one remain in a constant process of changing and letting go amd adapting new methods as the body grows older.
This is one of the more exciting aspects as rather then it taking away it gives a new creativity to an already established vocabulary.
- Duo acrodance (Afternoon)
Partnering work has been a strong focal point of our development.
We are interested in using methods that allow the partner to become an extension to our self. And also how we can use the partner as an apparatus, object, weapon or tool.
We will seek out how to expend less energy/force but at the same time retain the appearance of body in full fight and flight.
There will be an introduction to specific partnering themes from our ongoing research to allow for a better understanding and connection of the mechanics/anatomy of our partner
