Leila has worked extensively with David Zambrano as a performer, assistant and tour manager. She is one of 50 artists chosen to be a part of 50 days of Flying Low and Passing Through in Costa Rica in 2010 certifying her in the techniques.

The morning class will fuse the original principles of Flying Low (created by David Zambrano) with Leila’s further development of the technique. Flying Low focuses on the dancers relationship with the floor. We will dissolve the hard floor into a lush swimming pool by transforming our bodies into water. We will move in and out of the floor efficiently with speed without forgetting any part of our body. We will dive, roll, slide, gather and send, we will Fly Low.

The workshop will focus on Passing Through, an improvisation technique working with the philosophy that movement needs no leader in creation. Specifically working with adaptation, interconnecting with everyone at all times, transforming the environment of the dance, playing with expansion and cohesion. We will be soft, wild and powerfully spontaneous. We work to see the room full of infinite pathways passing through the walls, the floor and the bodies. We will play with the existence of solo dancers within group composition. We will find the place where Flying Low meets Passing Through. Thus together we will create a wild spontaneous composition.
