DYNAMICS, RHYTHM & TEXTURE This is a physical Contemporary Class, which will involve strong, complex and technical sequences in and out of the floor, focusing on performance and stamina. Improvisation will also be explored as part of self-development. The desired outcomes for the workshop are to develop the dancers' creative mind, drive from passion, determination, strength, musicality and most importantly an intention and honesty in whatever choice they make during the session.

The session will give you the time and space to explore different possibilities to create unusual and unpredictable movement. The session will involve different tasks to stimulate and challenge the creative minds, challenging partnering skills and solo work.
We will play with the art of intention / honesty of the movement and how emotions can transform material or be used as stimuli. These sessions are for participants discovering their personal styles in movement, self-development to improve in creative processes and develop choreography.

Alleyne Dance was founded in 2014 by sisters Kristina and Sadé Alleyne. Their aesthetic reflects their diverse background of athleticism and dance training. AD blends Afro- Caribbean, Hip Hop, Kathak, Latin and Circus Skills within a contemporary dance context. Their movement is fast paced and dynamic with infusions of lyrical and fluid motion, with a focus on rhythms and textures. Over the past five years they have built and developed the company, striving for high quality and excellence as they deliver their two main objectives; performance and education work.

The education work has been delivered in a range of settings around the world including training institutions, youth groups, professional companies and dancers and is designed to support the individual’s creative mind, passion, determination, strength, and most importantly, their intention and belief in themselves. Alleyne Dance has worked with, Shift Youth Company (UK), Scatter Dance Company (UK), Impulstanz Residency (Austria), Codarts (Belgium), Jeune Ballet Calabash (France), Dance4 CAT (UK), SEAD Salzburg (Austria), to name a few. The company’s main production, A Night’s Game, has been touring since 2016 in the UK and to over 9 countries, with more dates in 2019 including in Australia, Austria, Germany and part of the Rural Dance Touring Initiative.
